The FRT trigger system delivers consistent break and reset for AR-15 platforms, engineered for precision shooting without compromising reliability. Built to withstand high round counts, it’s a solution for competitive shooters and builders who prioritize mechanical consistency over adjustable features.
What you get
- High-grade steel construction (58-60 HRC hardness)
- CNC-machined components for tight tolerances
- Black oxide finish for corrosion resistance
- Drop-in design with pre-assembled housing
- 2.5 oz total weight; 2.75″ x 0.75″ x 0.5″ dimensions
Build and finish
The FRT’s hammer and sear are machined from solid billet steel, hardened to 58-60 HRC to resist wear. Unlike coated triggers, the black oxide treatment penetrates the metal surface rather than sitting atop it, reducing galling even in dusty environments. The housing is precision-milled to eliminate side-to-side play.
Internally, the design uses a single-stage, non-adjustable mechanism with a consistent 4.5-5 lb pull weight. The geometry minimizes creep while maintaining positive reset—a deliberate choice for reliability in defensive or field use where adjustable triggers might falter.
Compatible platforms
- Mil-spec AR-15 lower receivers
- FRT 15, FRT 15 E3, FRT 15 L2/L3 variants
- FRT MR3 and FRT-RD3 models
- Not compatible with .308 AR platforms or proprietary lowers
Installation notes
Remove your factory trigger group and pins, then insert the FRT as a complete unit. No fitting or staking required—the anti-walk pins included with most models maintain alignment. Test function with safety checks before live fire.
At Blackjack Firearms, we stock this as a working alternative to boutique competition triggers. It’s built for shooters who need a durable, no-nonsense trigger that performs in the Sonoran Desert or on the clock. Priced at $1501.20 (originally $1625.00), inventory is limited due to domestic manufacturing lead times.
